The current latest ‘trendy croissant’ shape in Vancouver is the ‘Supreme’. But long before circles were popular, Chez Christophe has been making their delicious croissant cubes. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what shape the croissant is in. It just needs to be buttery, flakey and delicious. Chez Christophe definitely hits all those points! I’m a huge fan of their croissant cubes (and their croissants in general!) so when they announced that they’re doing a Mont Blanc Croissant Cube flavour, I all but flew to the store. The Mont Blanc croissant cube does not disappoint! The filling is just the most delicious chestnut puree and the outside is buttery, flakey layers of croissant goodness. Unfortunately this is not a permanent flavour but it does seem to be on rotation and it will be available for the first week of February. I highly recommend you go early! I went at 11 am on weekday and they were completely sold out already.
If you miss out on the Mont Blanc Croissant Cube, don’t worry. Their other flavours are equally as delicious.
Chez Christophe is also participating in the Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival and their current offering is the The Sorting Hat. This Harry Potter inspired hot chocolate will be available until February 11. The drink is a butter-beer 34% cocoa white chocolate infused with butterscotch and butter-flavoured popcorn milk. On the side – a mystery house made lollipop filled with 4 different fillings indicating the assigned wizard house.
