This little unassuming Vietnamese restaurant tucked away on Nanaimo Street next to TD Canada is hands down my favourite Vietnamese restaurant in Vancouver. It’s definitely a no frills location but it is clean enough and the service is always friendly. I really appreciate that this restaurant doesn’t use MSG (or at least very little) because I hate the thirsty after taste I usually get at Vietnamese restaurants.
What I ate: Green Papaya Salad.
I always order this no matter what time of year – I even order this when its negative ten degrees outside!
The portion is generous and very fresh. I love the sauce they use because it’s perfectly balanced between savory, salty and sweet.
What I ate: Vermicelli bowl with Lemongrass Chicken and Springroll
This is another solid dish that I get quite often. The chicken is always moist, and the greens fresh and crisp.
What I ate: Bún bò Huế
They don’t serve it with pork leg or pig blood curd which is completely okay with me. I don’t eat those two items anyway, so that’s partially the reason why I prefer their version. It’s not too spicy and the flavours are always spot on.
