Standing Egg Coffee is by far one of the best coffee shops that I have ever been to. The vibe is very similar to the type of coffee shops you would see in Asia.
The decor is very nice, with an industrial feel. I am not a connoisseur of coffee by any means, but based on my limited knowledge, their coffee set up is pretty impressive.
Since their soft opening a few weeks back, I’ve been here at least 5 times. Every time I have dragged an unsuspecting friend out to “the middle of no where”, just to show them this hidden gem of a shop.
I’m a total sucker for packaging and branding, and Standing Egg Coffee is definitely doing it right. The simple lines and sleek packaging for their cold brew coffee is genius!
What I ate: Affogato
The espresso for this dessert was SO GOOD. It was very smooth and complemented the ice cream perfectly. The ice cream could be improved upon, it tasted like the kind you would get from Breyer’s (i.e. very airy).
What I drank: Spanish Latte
This was so yummy. My only other experience with a Spanish latte is at Caffè Artigiano and this version blows it out of the water. I would definitely come all the way out here just for this drink.
What I drank: Iced Matcha Latte
This wasn’t bad. It isn’t the best Matcha latte I’ve had in Vancouver, and the matcha taste was weak, but overall it was a decent cup.
They also have the cutest little water glasses (glorified shot glasses to be perfectly honest!)
BONUS: Standing Egg is the name of one of my favourite indie bands of all time. Give them a listen! (I wonder if the owners of the cafe are fans too?)
