Cham Mani

My favourite Korean snack shop is Kimbap Cheonguk on North Road, but unfortunately it’s just a little bit too out of the way for an every day work lunch.

Cham Mani isn’t really even second place, but it’s the closest and most convenient from my office, so I find myself here more often than not grabbing a quick lunch.

What we ate: Kimchi Jjigae ($8.95) and Combo D (Rappoki + Gimbap)($8.95)

The Kimchi Jjigae here is actually really tasty! They use really good fermented kimchi so the taste is perfect. Given the price point and location they’re pretty stingy with the pork, but since I’m not a huge fan of pork belly to begin with it’s not an issue for me.

The gimbap on the other hand is just not good. At it’s best it’s palatable, but this time there was a mild soapy taste. It was not tasty.

Would I come back? Yes, but only because it’s convenient. It’s important to note that all the ramen dishes on the menu are instant ramen dishes (yes, the instant packages from the grocery store!)
