Pokeritto – Setting Poke on Fire on Robson Street

Pokeritto has two locations in Downtown Vancouver, and they have just opened a third location in the West End. Taking over the former Sushi Itoga, this new location is serving up their signature Aburi bowl as well as Kale Noodle Salad.

Aburi Bowl – flame torched Ahi Tuna, crab meat, miso glaze, furikake, green onions, sprouts, crispy tempura and shredded chili ($13.35)

This poke bowl is simple and features torched ahi tuna prominently. The yuzu miso mayo is delicious, but doesn’t overwhelm the fresh ahi. The finishings to this poke bowl are simple and add a nice textural contrast to the dish. I also enjoyed the brown rice base as the nuttiness of the rice added a nice flavour component.

Kale Noodle Salad – chicken, mango, and olives

The Kale Noodle salad has a zingy vinaigrette and the mango adds a nice burst of freshness.

I liked the Aburi poke bowl and it’s a unique offering that not a lot of poke shops currently have. If you’re in the area I would give recommend you giving it a try.
