2020 Nespresso Holiday Collection

Every year I look forward to the Holiday collection from Nespresso. Nespresso’s limited edition capsules are always so delicious that I wish that they were part of the permanent line! As always I have the Vertuo Next machine, so my review covers the Vertuo pods, but they also come for the Original machines. This year their holiday collection is Italian inspired. There are three flavours – Il Caffe, Amaretti and Pecan Biscotti. The 2020 Nespresso Holiday Collection is definitely one to try out!

• IL CAFFÈ is a 40 ml espresso. It has all the intensity of Italy in an espresso cup. This coffee is full and dark, with smooth, velvety taste and roasty, cereal aromas.
• AMARETTI is a 230 ml coffee. It is reminiscent of Amaretti biscuits, with notes of bittersweet almond and smooth vanilla.
• PECAN BISCOTTI is a 230 ml coffee. It tastes like the traditional Italian biscuit made to compliment coffee with nutty inflections.

My favourite from the collection is Il Caffe. It is an espresso, but I adore the dark roasty flavours. However, I wish it came in a larger size! Unfortunately the pecan biscotti flavour didn’t really work for me. It smells like a biscotti, but the flavour was quite faint. The Amaretti smells amazing and it is the perfect festive drink! It was like drinking Christmas in a cup!

As always, the boxes and the capsules are beautifully made. There is gold foil and the festive spirit is very apparent. These pods are so beautiful on display next to my Vertuo.
