Back in the day, it was very trendy to have all you can eat restaurants in Vancouver. However, over the years, the number of all you can eat spots in Vancouver has significantly gone down. Now a days, aside from old school stand by Uncle Willy’s, or the occasional hot pot all you can eat restaurant, there really isn’t much left. Enter – Gyukaku Japanese BBQ! They have just brought their all you can eat to Vancouver. You can enjoy three different levels of Japanese BBQ on their outside heated patio during the new pandemic restrictions. Check out if the all you can eat Gyukaku Japanese BBQ is worth it!

There are three levels you can choose from – $40, $50 and $60. The best bang for your buck is the $40 menu. Generally, when I dine at Gyukaku I’m spending at least that much money, so even if you don’t stuff yourself, this menu is worth it. The least worth it, is the $60 menu. Most of the items are ‘unavailable’ at this time, and the expensive item (beef tongue), you can only order once.

The all you can eat menu at Gyukaku is from Monday to Friday from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. You will have 100 minutes to dine, and they will remind you when your last call is. I went at 4:30 pm and our cut off time was 6:10 pm. You will be given a paper order sheet to check off what you want to order. There is a pretty wide variety of meats to choose from, as well as appetizers and a couple desserts.

Overall, I had a great time. The food was fresh and came out promptly. They did not stall for time, or ‘miss’ items as some restaurants do when there is all you can eat. The service was very friendly, and they made sure our grills were clean.

Gyukaku only has about 6 patio tables, so definitely make a reservation on OpenTable before you go.
