You Need To Try The Mexican Brunch at Ophelia Vancouver

Ophelia Vancouver Brunch Menu – Appetizers and Cocktails

As it was the weekend, we decided to start with cocktails and coffee! We had:

The Sunrise Margarita was very refreshing with a appetite whetting sour finish. It had me coming back for sip after sip. The Flat White was excellent. Smooth with a nice creamy finish – just what I need to recover from Daylight Savings starting. The Call Me In The Afternoon was a light cocktail perfect for diners who don’t like strong tasting alcoholic beverages.

Ophelia Vancouver in Olympic Village Guacamole features fresh avocado, white onion, cilantro, jalapeño, lime juice, corn tortilla Prawn Ceviche Tostada ($15.50) features marinated Tiger Prawn, crispy tortilla, cucumber, habanero crema

For appetizers we went with:

Ophelia Vancouver in Olympic Village prawn ceviche tostada features marinated Tiger Prawn, crispy tortilla, cucumber, habanero crema

The Guacamole was nice and smooth with a bright acidic punch. This was very tasty! The Prawn Ceviche Tostada was one of my favourite dishes of the day. There was lots of acidity from the lime and the habanero crema packs a good spicy kick. This is a must order dish for me.

The Ensalada Ophelia was divine. The salad was perfectly dressed with the bright and creamy cilantro dressing. There is nothing more satisfying than having a salad where every leaf and green has the perfect amount of dressing. The ahi tuna was seared perfectly and it went very well with the fresh greens. The tortilla strips gave the dish a nice crunchy textural contrast.

Ophelia Vancouver Brunch Menu – Entrees and Tacos

For our entrees we went with:

Ophelia Vancouver mexican restaurant in Olympic village Huevos Divorciados which features sunny side up eggs, refried beans, chorizo, diced potatoes, tortilla, salsa roja and salsa verde

The Huevos Divorciados was visually very interesting. There are two sauces (salsa roja which is red and salsa verde which is green) on each egg. They are ‘divided’ down the center. The salsas weren’t too spicy but they are definitely the dominant flavour. I didn’t really taste the beans or chorizo in this dish. The potatoes are sliced thin and fried for a nice crispy exterior.

ophelia vancouver Arracherra Y Bone Marrow

The Taco De Arracherra Y Bone Marrow is a definite show stopper! When it comes to the table there is a giant bone on the plate full of yummy bone marrow. If you’re a fan of bone marrow you will love this dish, however I think it’s a good dish to try even if you’re unfamiliar with bone marrow. The tacos are rich and decadent and an absolute flavour explosion in my mouth. To really make this bite outstanding, be sure to add a nice generous dollop of guacamole on top.

The Huevos Motuleños was really similar to the Huevos Divorciados. You need to cut right through the stack to bread up the egg yolk and enjoy it in one bite to get all the different textures and flavoures in one bite. It was a very unique brunch dish and I enjoyed it a lot!

Worth a Try?

Yes! The restaurant itself is very large with lots of natural light. The dishes are elevated and flavourful and I thoroughly enjoyed every dish. The must orders for me are – prawn ceviche tostada, ensalada Ophelia and Taco De Arracherra Y Bone Marrow. It’s a great spot for a leisurely brunch with friends in a beautiful space. Ophelia is definitely joining my rotation of go-to brunch spots!
