With the lack of travel opportunities for the past few years, I have definitely been itching to get out of my house! What better way to escape without leaving then going on a staycation? Staycations are my favourite way of going on holiday without going anywhere. It’s such a perfect opportunity to rediscover the city in a leisurely way. Check out my Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle review below to see why this is a great spot for your next staycation!

About The Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle
The Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle is located in Coal Harbour in Downtown Vancouver. It’s central location makes it an ideal spot for tourists to explore Downtown Vancouver’s vibrant shopping, dining and entertainment districts. The hotel boasts stylish contemporary rooms and suites with world class city and harbour views with floor to ceiling windows – you won’t want to leave!
Harbourview King Room at Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle
The Harbourview room at Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle offers a king bed with floor to ceiling windows that offer the most stunning views of Coal Harbour. Facing the Coal Harbour neighbourhood, waterfront, and seawall, this room is perfect to take in the beauty that is Vancouver.
The King sized bed features the fluffiest feather pillows and a cushy blanket. I couldn’t wait to jump right in!
Both sides of the bed including wall lamps as well as reading lights. There are also USBs for charging that are conveniently located so you can use your phone while relaxing in bed.
The room includes complimentary tea and coffee. The Keurig is so simple to use and it was lovely to enjoy the gorgeous albeit gloomy views of Vancouver while sipping on a hot coffee!
The room has two sofas for you to relax in and take in the views. If you’re travelling for business, the room features high speed Wi-Fi access and USB outlets keep you connected and productive.
There is a great range of amenities available in the room as well as additional amenities you can order through the front desk or on the Marriott app. As a frequent traveler, I love using the Marriott Bonvoy app because I can seamlessly request for amenities and additional services without having to talk to anyone at all. I can also keep track of everything.
Happy Hour at Showcase Restaurant
Showcase Restaurant is conveniently located on the main floor of the Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront so you don’t have to venture far for some delicious eats. Showcase is one of Downtown Vancouver’s top casual dining restaurants and they offer brunch, breakfast, lunch, happy hour and dinner! On this gloomy weekend, it was the perfect spot for Happy Hour because I didn’t have to step foot outside in the rain.
The Showcase Happy Hour is from 4 – 6PM and 9 – 10PM daily. It is available for dine in only and there is a variety of small plates and drinks to choose from. For Happy Hour we choose a few items of their menu:
- Mushroom Flatbread ($14.00)
- Nori Fries ($11.00)
- Korean Fried Chicken Bites ($9.00)
The Mushroom Flatbread features feta, grape tomatoes, pickled onion, and mustard. The Nori Fries feature a miso emulsion, cilantro, crispy shallots, and sesame. The Korean Fried Chicken Bites feature kimchi, honey sambal and scallions.
We couldn’t resist ordering the Bacon & Cheese Burger ($21.00) of the main dinner menu as well. The burger features a hand pressed beef patty, smoked bacon, pickle cheddar, secret sauce, tomato, lettuce and fries. This was a fully loaded burger that didn’t skimp on the toppings. The patties were nice and juicy and the bacon add a great smokey flavour!
For a sweet ending we had the Warm Apple Galette ($12.00). The galette was simply divine. The pastry was flakey and buttery and the apples were soft but still had a nice texture. The house made vanilla ice cream was the perfect accompaniment to this dessert.
A La Carte Room Dining at Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle
Early the next morning we decided to enjoy a casual Sunday in and we ordered from the a la carte menu. You can pick up at Showcase or have it delivered to your room for a fee. As it was the day after Daylight Savings started, we decided to treat ourselves to a full spread:
- Sliced Fruit Plate ($11.00)
- All Canadian ($22.00)
- Avocado Toast ($21.00)
- Cinnamon French Toast ($21.00) – whipped cream, candied almonds, caramel
The Sliced Fruit Plate was a generous serving of watermelon, pineapple and seasonal berries. It was a very refreshing way to start the morning.
The All Canadian was a nice and hearty breakfast plate that features two eggs, crispy bacon or sausage breakfast potatoes, sautéed onions, and tomatoes. We had it with scrambled eggs and sausage and there was no complaints. It was a solid plate of breakfast – comforting and filling. The Avocado Toast was beautifully composed. It features grilled house bread, poached eggs, hemp hearts tarragon emulsion, pickled onion, and a side kale salad. I adore the char on the bread from the grill and it went so well with the perfectly ripe avocado. The eggs were perfect – the yolk ties the whole dish together.
And to finish off on a sweet note we had the Cinnamon French Toast. The toast features four slices of toast with plenty of sweet toppings. The almonds were a particular favourite.
