Kurotaki Chabann Vancouver – New Spot for Bubble Tea and Fried Chicken in Vancouver

There’s nothing more satisfying than stumbling across a new spot with nostalgic food and drinks. After dinner, Trudy and I wanted to find some bubble tea and Kurotaki Chabann was near by. We didn’t have much expectations as they don’t have a lot of reviews, but we were pleasantly surprised. The prices are a touch on the higher side (almost $10 for bubble tea!). However, it is aligned with the current restaurant pricing in Vancouver. They also have some pretty good daily deals. If you’re looking for a nice aesthetic cafe with bubble tea and fried chicken, Kurotaki Chabann Vancouver is the spot for you!

Kurotaki Chabann Menu

They have a pretty extensive snack menu to go with their bubble tea. Is it anything life changing? No. But it will satisfy a snacking craving. I went on a Thursday, and the special didn’t appeal to me, but I think I’ll come by next time on a Friday as their chicken wings were very tasty.

The interior of Kurotaki Chabann is super aesthetic as well. It gives me Korean/warehouse vibes (similar to 3 Quarters Cafe in the West End), and I absolutely dig it. However, there is a very strong oil smell in the cafe. If that wasn’t the case I think I would chill out there with friends more often.

On our visit, we were quite full from dinner so we just had a snack and bubble tea. We went with 8 Piece Fried Chicken Wings combo ($20.00) and Fresh Red Grapefruit Tea ($8.50) and Whole Lime Green Tea ($7.50).

The chicken wings were so good! Hot and crispy with a very flavourful batter. It reminds me of Taiwanese popcorn chicken but in wing form. Unfortunately I chose poorly for my drink and the Whole Lime Green Tea was mediocre at best. Definitely do not recommend. The Fresh Red Grapefruit Tea on the other hand was delicious! It was citrusy and refreshing and it comes with clear pearls (my favourite). Next time, I will definitely order that one.

Worth a Try?

Yes. If you’re looking for a place to chill after dinner or just to enjoy a snack Kurotaki Chabann is a great spot to do so. It’s in the Yaletown area, and for the area the pricing is not bad. The food won’t blow your mind, and most of it is probably previously frozen, but at least it’s made well. The bubble tea isn’t my favourite but it’s good for the area.
