Frying Pan, a Korean fried chicken sando favourite in Vancouver, is moving to a brand new home. They are moving their brick and mortar location from Gastown to Vancouver’s West End. The menu will still include their classic crowd favourites but they will also be introducing new menu items as well. Be sure to check out their new location (1101 Denman Street) on Saturday, September 24th. The first 100 guests will get their delicious Classic Sando for just $5! The Frying Pan Denman Street location will now serve as their brick-and-mortar location.
Frying Pan Denman – Hot Chicken Sandos and More!
New on the menu for Frying Pan is the Pa Dak Sando. This delicious sando features chicken breast, soy sauce, house mayo, pickle, slaw, green onion, chili powder, on a toasted bun. The chicken breast was so moist and juicy and the green onion slaw was the perfect combination of spicy and crunchy. It was a great refreshing contrast to the soft buns and hot chicken.
If you’re looking for classics, you can’t go wrong with the Classic Crunch Sandwich with a delicious chicken thigh, lettuce, toasted buns and pickles. The chicken is perfectly fried and I love how such simple ingredients can come together to make such a flavour bomb. This sando reminds me a lot of the one I had at NeNe Chicken.
Another new unique menu item is their Spicy Fried Cheese Sandwich! Melty mozzarella cheese is sandwiched between two soft buns and then deep fried. Dip it in some jam for a sweet and salty combo.
In addition to new chicken items, they are also introducing new vegetarian and vegan-friendly dishes such as the Veggie Sando. The patty is like a tempura vegetable patty made with yam, potato, onions and carrots. Paired with vegan mayo, pickles and slaw). I didn’t get to try this one, but the overall consensus seemed that it was a tasty sandwich!
Worth a Try?
Yes! There’s a reason why Frying Pan is so popular – their food is delicious! Their sandos are always so tasty and fresh. I love that their chicken (breast or thigh!) is always so flavourful and moist.
Frying Pan’s new Denman location will be open Sundays through Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The Frying Pan food truck will continue to serve lunch from its downtown parking spot at 505 Burrard Street.
Don’t forget to come celebrate with Frying Pan on September 24th, and indulge in a $5 Classic Crunch Sando!
