With the Thanksgiving season behind us, it’s time to look ahead for the spookiest season of the year. Halloween decorations are in full swing, and this year the City of Burnaby is doing Halloween in a big way! Check out the these fun activities that are happening in Burnaby to mark the scariest day of the year. Will you be checking out these events to celebrate Halloween in Burnaby?

1. Eerie Illusions – Burnaby Village Museum

Eerie Illusions is a family friendly Halloween experience at Burnaby Village Museum. From October 20-31 (5:30-10:30 pm), you and your family can experience state-of-the-art lighting, projections, soundscapes and special effects at Eerie Illusions. On site there will be food vendors like Green Coast Coffee, Reel Mac and Cheese and Cravings Kettle Corn. Please note that the carousel will not be open at this time.

2. Pumpkins After Dark – Swangard Stadium & Central Park

This one of a kind walk through experience features over 6,000+ hand-carved pumpkins! From September 22-October 31 (6:30-10pm), you can take a walk along a spooky pathway of pumpkin sculptures and displays with music and special effects. This family friendly activity is a must try Halloween experience!

3. Hex After Dark Film Festival

Hex After Dark is the largest Halloween/Horror Film Festival in Western Canada. The festival will be showcasing at Cineplex Cinemas Metropolis and will highlight some of the best in Canadian horror and Halloween films. The festival will take place October 14-16. 4. Haunted Halloween Adventure

Do you love choose your own adventure stories? This is your chance to be a part of a fully immersive fantasy haunted quest experience! Haunted Halloween Adventure is Vancouver’s only open-world Halloween experience. It is a 2 hour adults-only adventure with bow and arrows as you take on various quests.

5. Zombie Walk

Tourism Burnaby is having their first ever Zombie Walk on October 13! Dress up in your best zombie look and join the walk from Patterson Skytrain station to Swangard Stadium. There are plenty of prizes to be won and lots of fun to be had. Kids are allowed, but it is a pretty gruesome event, so it is definitely geared more towards adults. Tickets to this even include entry to Pumpkins After Dark (post event day only) and a digital commemorative photograph.
