Chop Steakhouse Downtown Vancouver – Steak Masters Menu

Chop Steakhouse Downtown Vancouver - Steak Masters Menu Smoke Sirloin Picanha

I finally had the chance to check out the newest location of Chop Steakhouse in Downtown Vancouver. It is located on the east side of the Vancouver Convention Center with beautiful views of Vancouver Harbour, the North Shore Mountains and Canada Place. Although it was pouring rain the day I went and the fog hid all the views, I can definitely imagine this being a prime patio spot in the summer! I was here specifically to try out their brand new Steak Masters Menu. Check out my full review of Chop Steakhouse Downtown Vancouver below!

Chop Steakhouse Downtown Vancouver – Steak Masters Menu

The Steak Masters menu is developed by Executive Chef Stephen Clark’s travels around the world. This menu of featured items feature the international flavours of Korea, France and Brazil paired with 100% Canadian Beef. The featured wine pairing is Joel Gott 815 Cabernet Sauvignon and Three Thieves Chardonnay.

The featured items are:

Chop Steakhouse Downtown Vancouver - Steak Masters Menu spicy beef bao

The Spicy Beef Bao ($16.00) draws inspiration from Korea and features gochujang braised beef, fresh mint & cilantro, served on pillowy soft steamed buns. The buns were so soft and fluffy and the perfect vehicle for the braised beef. I found the beef to be a tad bit on the saltier side, but the fresh mint and cilantro helps to balance it out.

Chop Steakhouse Downtown Vancouver - Steak Masters Menu sous vide filet with beef tallow french fries

The Sous Vide Filet ($45.00) draws inspiration from France and features a medium rare 7oz filet with beef tallow French fries, green peppercorn sauce and fresh seasonal vegetables. This was my favourite dish of the night. The meat just melts in my mouth and the green peppercorn sauce was so velvety and flavourful. The French fries were crisp on the outside and pipping hot on the inside.

Chop Steakhouse Downtown Vancouver - Steak Masters Menu Smoke Sirloin Picanha

The Smoke Sirloin Picanha ($36.00) takes inspiration from Brazil and features a 7oz top sirloin cap with chimichurri and Brazilian spices, served with roasted baby potatoes and fresh seasonal vegetables. This cut was a little tougher, but still tasty. The char flavour was very prominent and the chimichurri was very fresh.

To finish off the evening we had a decadent Chocolate Lava Cake ($12.00) which features a lava cake filled with warm, decadent Belgian dark chocolate, served with lavender crème anglaise & vanilla gelato. The lava cake was done perfectly with a thick river of decadent chocolate. The gelato was the perfect complement to this rich dessert.

Worth a Try?

Yes! The venue space cannot be beat and the meal overall was fantastic. I took a peek at the regular menu and there are a number of dishes that piqued my interest that I’ll definitely be back to try. Chop Steakhouse is open for lunch, dinner, happy hour and late night.
