Sidecut Fall Prix Fixe Menu Review – Starters and First Course

To start there is your choice of three starters:

Four Seasons Resort Whistler Sidecut Steakhouse in Whistler Must Try fine dining restaurant in whistler $68 Sidecut Fall Prix Fixe Menu beef tartare with cured egg, truffle aioli

As it is a steakhouse, you know I had to get the Beef Tartare. This was a gorgeous starter with very fresh beef. It was very flavourful and the cured egg adds a really strong umami punch. The sourdough bread was the perfect vehicle for this rich tartare. I highly recommend ordering this if you’re a fan of tartare.

The Baby Gem Caesar ($32.00) featuring Grana Padano, white anchovies, garlic crouton, organic egg and crispy maple bacon is another great starter.

For first course you have a choice of:

The next course has a nice selection of dishes including a very unique Beet Carpaccio. It features a variety of beets and it is a beautiful dish with a multitude of colours.

However, I couldn’t resist ordering the Aburi King Salmon. This dish was a stand out for me. The salmon pieces were just melt in my mouth and the truffle ponzu helps to balance the fattiness of the salmon perfectly.

Sidecut Fall Prix Fixe Menu Review – Mains, Enhancements and Dessert

For mains you have a choice of:

Four Seasons Resort Whistler Sidecut Steakhouse in Whistler Must Try fine dining restaurant in whistler $68 Sidecut Fall Prix Fixe Menu Grilled striploin with herb potato cake, red wine jus and baby squash

There is a nice selection of main courses to choose from so there will definitely be something for everyone. The Grilled Striploin was my choice and it was a medium rare as requested. I found the steak to be a tad tough, and I personally don’t enjoy having my steak precut. I would recomment ordering the duck or sole instead.

For the main course, you can upgrade your mains for an additional cost. My friend got the Long Bone 52 oz for $350 and it is served and carved tableside and is definitely a showstopper. It can feed 3-4 people, so definitely a great option for sharing.

Additional sides that I would recommend adding to your meal include Jumbo Prawns (4oz $28), Potato Purée ($18) and Sauteéd Mushrooms ($19). These sides were so well executed and the Jumbo Prawns were some of the largest I have ever seen or eaten!

If you still have room, don’t forget that dessert is part of this menu! Choose from:

Four Seasons Resort Whistler Sidecut Steakhouse in Whistler Must Try fine dining restaurant in whistler $68 Sidecut Fall Prix Fixe Menu pear cremeux

The Pear Crémeux was my choice and it was a beautiful delicate dessert to end the evening. The dessert was not too sweet and the butteriness of the shortbread pairs well with the light floral like pear gel. If you want a richer ending, definitly go for the Chocolate Caramel Spiced Ganache, it isn’t too sweet as well but the richness of the chocolate definitely shines.
