Bbong Korean Restaurant – Family Combos

My go to orders have always been their family combos. You get extremely generous portions of food for a reasonable price. The combos are:

kkangpungi korean deep fried chicken in spicy sweet sour sauce Bbong korean restaurant bbong on north road korean chinese food on north road

I love their Kkangpunggi (deep fried chicken in spicy, sweet and sour sauce) so I’ve been getting Combo B for years now. It says it feeds 2-3 people but it feeds my family of 4 with some leftovers, so you know they have really generous portions here. The portion size is enormous and every piece of chicken is so perfectly fried and juicy. The sour and sweet and spicy all work so well together and I always keep going back from another piece.

Jjangmyeon Bbong korean restaurant bbong on north road korean chinese food on north road

No Korean Chinese restaurant is complete without jajangmyeon, and Bbong’s version doesn’t disappoint. The black bean paste sauce is rich and savory, perfectly complementing the chewy noodles. It’s a perfect balance of flavors.

The jjampong here isn’t too spicy at first but it creeps up on you. Their noodles include plenty of shrimp and squid and perfectly cooked noodles.

In addition to their Chinese-Korean offerings they also have a nice selection of Korean dishes like Kimchi-jjigae, doengjang jjigae, sundubu, galbi-tang and more. Other family favourites here include Gun Mandu ($15.99). These deep fried dumplings are perfectly fried and stuffed with chives, green onion and minced pork.

And Gochu Japchae ($35.99) which feature spicy stir fried shredded meat with bell peppers served with the softest fluffy plain steamed buns.

Worth a Try?

Yes! I’ve been coming here for almost 10 years and I’m so happy that they are celebrating their 10th anniversary. They just recently renovated the restaurant as well so it’s very bright, airy and spacious.

The service at Bbong is really friendly and efficient. The staff is always ready to offer recommendations if you’re unsure about what to order, and they make sure that your dining experience is smooth from start to finish. The restaurant can get busy during peak hours, but the staff works hard to ensure that every guest feels taken care of.

Because of Bbong’s location on North Road in Burquitlam, it is very easily accessible. There’s ample parking available, and the restaurant is situated just a few steps away from H-Mart; making it a great spot to visit after running errands.
