Cafe de l’Orangerie

After a long day shopping at Tsawwassen Mills we went here for some good old Yoshoku (Japanese-Western) cuisine.

This Cafe used to be one of my favourites and I would be here at least once a week (before they moved to this location). I haven’t been back in a very long time, so I was excited to see if it was as good as I remembered it to be.

What we ate: Masago Creamy Spaghetti – squid, mushroom, asparagus, roe, cream (Regular – $9.80)

I was pretty disappointed with this. The portion size was so small! By no means am I a big eater, but I was still hungry after finishing this! There was maybe two slivers of asparagus and three pieces of squid. I was so disappointed overall by this dish, I’m not the greatest cook either but I could have done this so much better.

What we ate: Hayashi and Creamy Spaghetti with Hamburger Steak – Orangerie style hashed beef stew served with a cream-based spaghetti and topped with a hamburger steak ($13.95)

Would I come back? Probably not. It’s out of the way for me and the value just isn’t there. Taste wise, it was okay, but if I can make it better, chances are I won’t be back.
