[Product Review] Sorbatto

When I was growing up, nothing was worse than missing on on ice cream treats because I was lactose intolerant. Thankfully, I’ve managed to out grow that phase of my life and can fully enjoy all manner of dairy based products now, but if I had more options as a child, I think my summers would have been much more enjoyable.

Sorbatto has created a dessert that doesn’t leave anyone out. Frosty Blue is their line of plant-based frozen desserts that are dairy free, gluten-free, nut-free, and soy-free. It’s packed with almost 90% real fruit (that are grown on their own farm in Washington!) and is the perfect treat for everyone to enjoy.

Currently there are six flavours available – Blackberry, Blue Passion (Passionfruit and blueberry), Lemon, Dark Blue (organic chocolate and blueberry), Grape and Raspberry. Even though you wouldn’t expect it (or maybe you would with the name “Frosty Blue”), regardless of the indicated flavour, the product itself is a dark blue colour because the base if this dessert is blueberries.

Every flavour was very refreshing. My personal favourite was the grape, because I felt that the grape flavour worked best with the blueberry base.

This sorbet will definitely stain your teeth, lips and tongue, so it’s a treat best enjoyed when you don’t have a special event after!

Sorbatto can be purchased online and in stores (BC and Alberta). You can buy them as a 4 pack ($44.99) or 6 pack ($59.99) with your choice of flavours.
