Ririmisu Desserts is a local Vancouver based baker who crafts the cutest tiramisu boxes. I love her bakes and she gave me a sneak preview of her special Halloween cake set. Only 100 cake sets will be made and they are on preorder now for pick up on October 29-31. She has taken her classic tiramisu boxes and transformed them in to the cutest Ririmisu Halloween mini cakes!
Each set consists of 4 cakes that are 4″ in size. The four flavours are:
- Black Tea Jelly-Skelly which has a layer of black tea jelly
- The Taro Mummy with plenty of real mashed taro inside
- Oreo Mud Monster has Oreo and salted cream
- Matcha Mike which has Matcha cream, glazed with pistachio white chocolate with a ring of mochi
The cake layers themselves are extremely soft and fluffy and the flavour combinations are spot on.
Ririmisu Desserts – Halloween Mini Cake Set
The Oreo Mud Monster was so cute with the two decorative Oreos on top that reminds me of the Soot Sprites in Spirited Away. The Oreo flavour was very prominent and went well with the lightly sweet cake.
The Taro Mummy was my personal favourite. I love taro and this cake had plenty of it! The taro filling wasn’t too sweet and I love how it does look just like a mummy!
The Matcha Mike was close second for my top pick. I love the circle of mochi inside which was so soft and chewy! THe pistachio glaze has a good crunch and overall the dessert wasn’t too sweet.
The Black Tea Jelly-Skelly had a very jiggly middle layer of jelly which was very fun to poke. The black tea flavour wasn’t too prominent, and while enjoyable it was my least favourite of the four. Also the chunk missing at the top was my fault, my big thumb accidently hit it while removing the cake from the box.
Overall I really enjoyed these cakes! I think it’s a great spin on her classic desserts and I love how cute and festive these are for the Halloween season.
