Hello Nori is the first Vancouver Japanese handroll bar in BC. They serve freshly made crispy hand rolls with warm rice and fresh, local and sustainable seafood. Each handroll is made in just minutes and is ultra fresh. It is a great interactive experience. The restaurant is one large wrap around sushi bar decorated with natural wood and stone. For Dine Out Vancouver, Hello Nori will be participating with a $25 Dine Out menu.
Hello Nori $25 Dine Out Vancouver Menu
Hello Nori will be serving their Dine Out menu for lunch and dinner. They are not accepting reservations – so try and go earlier in the day! The four rolls are:
- Bluefin Tuna Hand Roll
- Kanpachi Hand Roll
- Anago Hand Roll
- Snow Crab Hand Roll
The Bluefin Tuna hand roll was very flavourful and fatty. The tuna was smooth and went with with the sesame sprinkle and fresh seaweed. The Kanpachi was fresh, but not very notable.
The Anago hand roll is my favourite of the four rolls. I really enjoy the freshly torched anago and I appreciate that it is not too saucy. The flavour of the eel really shines through. The Snow Crab hand roll was my least favourite of the hand rolls as I didn’t find that it had much flavour – I could only taste mayo.
Worth a Try?
For $25, I would say this menu is worth a try. Although Hello Nori does have a $20 menu on their regular menu for 4 rolls, I find that the rolls on the Dine Out menu has a better selection. Do note, that this menu only includes 4 hand rolls. There is no appetizer or dessert (as is common with most Dine Out menus). It is a unique concept that I really enjoy, because the nori is so crisp and fresh. The only other place that I’ve had hand rolls similar to this is at the Lobby Lounge at the Fairmont Pacific Rim as part of their Omakase lunch.
