New Must Try Plant Based Spot in Vancouver - Nhan Vietnamese

Nhan Vietnamese – Starters

To start off our meal we had a selection of starters:

Nhan Vietnamese Vancouver spring rolls Bean curd, carrots, taro, dried mushroom, dried black fungus, and tofu. Served with mustard greens and herbs for wrapping with vegan fish sauce.

The Spring Rolls came piping hot and are excellent. The filling is so flavourful and I love all the different textures. The Salad Rolls were my favourite of the starters. It was a refreshing roll stuffed to the brim with ingredients. I really like the plentiful use of herbs in this roll.

Nhan Vietnamese Vancouver Banana blossom salad with Banana blossom, kale, spinach, pickled carrots and daikon, bean sprouts, cabbage, cucumbers, and vegan fish sauce.

The Banana Blossom Salad was a unique dish I have never had before. I have had banana blossom as a side for Bún bò Huế but never on its own. This salad was nice and light. It could have used a bit more of a kick, as the vegan fish sauce is pretty light, but if you eat this with the spring rolls, it becomes a winning combo.

Nhan Vietnamese – Mains

Nhan Vietnamese Vancouver main dishes bun bo hue, pho and vermicelli bowl with crispy tofu

For our mains we went with:

The Pho came packed with ingredients. There was even slices of avocado in it! This pho was reminiscent of the one I had at Do Chay. It was quite light and flavour, but that was to be expected. I like the plethora of ingredients and the hearty serving of noodles. It is a great rendition of plant based pho.

The Bun Bo Hue came with its signature slippery rice noodles. This version was not as spicy as I expect it to be, but still very tasty nonetheless. I really like the addition of shiitake mushrooms to this dish!

Nhan Vietnamese Vancouver Vermicelli bowl with Pickled carrots and daikon, bean sprouts, cabbage, cucumbers, and vegan fish sauce. Served with crispy spring roll. Choice of chick’n or glazed tofu.

The Vermicelli Bowl was my favourite of the three. I highly recommend ordering this with the sticky chili glazed crispy tofu. The fresh vegetables were a great contrast to the crispy components. This was a winning bowl in every way.
