There’s nothing I love more than discovering small businesses owners who are sharing their talent through their products. Siroo Korean Ricecake is the brainchild of Joy and she’s creating the cutest Korean rice cakes! The colourful smiley face Korean ricecakes are made fresh and are also gluten free. There are two size options:
- Mini Smile Ricecake (5 pieces): $10
- Regular Smile Ricecake (24 pieces): $45
I love the rainbow colours in her ricecakes and they’re best enjoyed day of. The exterior of the ricecake is slightly savoury and the filling is a lovely nutty mix. The combination of sweet and salty is so addictive!
If you’re not a fan of that combination (how can you not be?), then she has two other really great options to choose from:
- Strawberry Mochi (6 pieces): $30
- Oreo Ice Cream Mochi (6 pieces): $30
The Strawberry mochi has the softest mochi skin ever. It is just the perfect texture and there is just the right amount to cover the red bean filling and strawberry. It was such a delight to eat and the strawberries were so fresh and juicy!
The Oreo Ice Cream mochi has the same great mochi skin exterior but a nice and cold cookies and cream filling. Of all the options, this was the sweetest one. My sister was a huge fan of this one and this was definitely the most approachable flavour from a Western palatte.
Overall, my family was a huge fan of these rice cakes. For my parents they thought it was ‘not too sweet’, which is the highest compliment any dessert can get!
