If you’re a fan of Afternoon Tea you definitely need to check out Notch8 at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. Every few months they change the theme of their afternoon tea to match the season. Most recently I tried their Lunar New Year afternoon tea and it was such a lovely experience. This time, I had the opportunity to preview their new Autumn Harvest Afternoon Tea. This new tea service is inspired by the cozy embrace of sweater weather that meets the rich and warm flavours of the autumn season. The tea room has been transformed to a warm and inviting fall ambiance and is the perfect setting for the new menu. Check out my full review of the Notch8 Autumn Harvest Afternoon Tea below!
Notch8 Autumn Harvest Afternoon Tea Menu
The Notch8 Autumn Harvest Afternoon Tea is $69 per person. There is the standard tea menu as well as a children’s menu ($40 per child). Autumn Harvest Afternoon Tea will be available from Thursday, September 14 through Sunday, November 19. Seatings are available Thursday through Sunday and statutory holiday Mondays at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m.
The Autumn Harvest Afternoon Tea menu features:
Cinnamon Sugar Maple Scone & Classic Buttermilk Scone – tea cream, apple compote, lemon curd
The scones, as always, are excellent. They are large, fluffy and warm. They pair wonderfully with the tea cream, apple compote and lemon curd. My favourite spread was the apple compote.
SAVOURY
- Butternut Squash Tart – toasted walnuts, whipped goat cheese
- Brie + Pear Tea Sandwich – honey butter
- Mushroom Thyme Pinwheel – puff pastry
- Smoked Salmon Tea Sandwich – cucumber, watercress cream cheese
- Duck Rillette – apple sultana-spiced chutney
The savoury tier is always my favourite. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite, but my standouts were the butternut squash tart with its crumbly shortbread crust. The Brie and Pear Tea Sandwich with the chives on top was another standout for me. Overall, the savoury tier was a winner for me.
SWEET
- Ginger Pear Tart – almond frangipane
- Spiced Latte Coffee Cake – crumble topping
- Pumpkin Profiterole – craquelin, white chocolate
- Cinnamon Roll Macaron – cream cheese icing
If you’re a sweets person, this tier will definitely impress. Every dessert on this tier fully embodies the Fall theme. The Ginger Pear Tart was my favourite with the ginger zing balancing out the rich almond frangipane. The coffee cake was moist with a delicious crumble topping. The Pumpkin Profiterole is by far the cutest with its little stem and pumpkin spice cream filling!
