Little Cafe On Robson – Must Try Coffee Shop in Downtown Vancouver

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you would have seen the famous ‘Suprême’ from New York City’s Lafayette Grand Café & Bakery. This heavenly, cream-filled croissant is circular in shape and beyond lush. The croissant has become viral on TikTok, Instagram and more and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on them! Enter – Little Cafe on Robson. This unassuming little coffee on Robson Street in Downtown Vancouver has just introduced these amazing croissants to their bakery line up and you need to try them. There are so many flavours to choose from and they are on constant rotation. Flavours include Chestnut, Lemon Meringue, Matcha, Coffee and more. In addition to their sweet offerings, they have a pretty solid menu of savoury options including a savoury Supreme sandwich! Check out my full review below.

Little Cafe on Robson – Supremes (aka Circle Croissants)

I went by on a weekend, and they were super busy, but I was able to snag a few Supremes:

I love Mont Blanc, and Little Cafe has combined a Mont Blanc into this croissant and it is amazing. There’s so much flavour in this and the layers are so flakey and buttery. The Chesnut flavour is very strong and the crisp exterior of these croissants are just perfect. If you see these on the display, you absolutely need to try it.

New on the flavour docket is their Black Sesame Fig flavour. The roasted sesame flavour really comes through, and the mild sweetness of fig is a nice temper to the nuttiness of the sesame.

The Matcha flavour is a great classic flavour, and you can tell from the lovely green colour that they’re using top grade matcha. The bitterness of the matcha is tempered by the sweetness of the cream and the butteriness of the croissant.

Overall, the Supreme croissants here are excellent. They are still a super popular item and they sell out so fast. The Supremes are hefty too, with no skimping on the filling. I highly recommend you try these out the next time you’re in Downtown Vancouver.

Little Cafe on Robson – Sandwiches and Drinks

In addition to their famous Supreme Croissants, Little Cafe has a lovely selection of sandwiches to choose from. Check out the menu below.

On my visit I tried:

Little Cafe On Robson - Must Try Coffee Shop in Downtown Vancouver Breakfast Supreme Croissant Little Cafe on Robson Menu

The Breakfast Supreme features a plain croissant supreme with a baked omelet, bacon, cheddar, arugula and pickled peppers. The croissant was buttery and flakey and the soft omelet was well made. This was a hefty sandwich and an excellent twist on a traditional breakfast sandwich.

In addition to their famous Supremes, Little Cafe also makes an excellent house made focaccia. I had to try that in sandwich form, so I got their Ham Focaccia Sandwich. This features ham, bacon, cheddar, pesto mayo, arugula, pickled peppers and tomatoes. The focaccia was crisp on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. This was a well made sandwich with a good bread to filling ratio.

The Black Sesame Foam Latte and Espresso Cold Foam Latte are new on their menu. These were not bad – the foam components were full of flavour and very creamy. However, I found the coffee portion to be a bit lacking and watered down. I will stick with a regular coffee next time.

Worth a Try?

Yes! Supremes have definitely taken over Vancouver, but I find the ones at Little Cafe on Robson to be the best in terms of size, flavour, and presentation. They are a very popular treat, so it really is how lucky you are when you walk by. If you see the Chesnut one though, definitely make a beeline for the counter because it is probably one of the best pastries I have had this year!
