Every Monday night, Black+Blue hosts Land and Sea Mondays. A three-course dinner for two priced at $145! The set menu is designed to feel indulgent yet flexible. It starts with a tableside chopped salad before moving into a customizable steak-and-seafood pairing. Each entrée comes with classic sides, sauces, and finishes with a decadent layered chocolate cake for dessert. What makes this special is the balance between choice and simplicity. You get to select your cut of steak and seafood pairing, but everything else is taken care of, making it an easy but elevated night out. For Vancouver’s food scene, the value is strong. Premium proteins, shareable sides, and dessert in a polished setting all without the à la carte price tag.
Land & Sea Mondays – The Menu (Starters and Main)
The menu is simple it starts with:
- Starter: Tableside chopped salad with greens, roasted beets, cherry tomatoes, egg, cheddar, crispy chickpeas, garlic croutons, tossed in a creamy vinaigrette
- Main: Choose one steak (6 oz Tenderloin or 10 oz New York Striploin) and one seafood option. The seafood options are: 3 Creole Tiger Prawns, half an Atlantic Lobster, or 3 Jumbo Scallops. Every main comes with sautéed broccoli with crispy garlic, gratin potatoes as well as a trio of sauces: béarnaise, brandy peppercorn and garlic butter
- Dessert: A layered chocolate cake with chocolate ganache, crémeux, and vanilla ice cream

To start dinner off with a flair, the Chopped Salad is made tableside. It takes inspiration from the world famous Lawry’s Spinning Salad and this version was very good. Besides, it’s always fun to start dinner with a little flair.

It’s packed with lots of ingredients and the house made creamy vinaigrette is flavourful without being too heavy.

But we are all here for the the star of the show – Steak and Seafood. I will never say no to a New York Striploin so that’s what I had. It was a perfect medium rare as requested and my seafood pairing was the half Atlantic Lobster. The striploin was flavourful and tender. The Atlantic Lobster was also well done with a nice amount of meat and the garlic butter just gives it a little extra indulgence.

The scallops and the prawns are equally delicious!

My favourite seafood option was the Creole Prawns – enormous juicy prawns with the perfect bite and texture.

The sides of sautéed broccoli with crispy garlic and gratin potatoes were also excellent. The crisp texture of the broccoli was spot on.

The gratin potatoes were stunning with layers and layers of thinly sliced potato.
Land & Sea Mondays – The Menu (Dessert)

This dessert deserves its very own post. It’s a rich and decadent multi layer chocolate cake with a chocolate ganache, crémeux, and vanilla ice cream. Given it’s decadent look you’d think it would be too rich, but it’s actually not too sweet and beautifully made. Each layer is moist and full of flavour and the thin layers of icing aren’t overwhelming. This is an excellent and stunning way to end a very delicious dinner.

To really elevate your meal, I highly recommend adding on the Spanish Devil ($25.00). It is prepared tableside with an epic coffee flambée. The cocktail intself features dark rum, kahlúa, amaretto and licor 43. It is really quite the showstopper and the cocktail is the perfect pairing for the rich chocolate cake.
