I am obsessed with shaved ice. I’m forever on the look out for a good shaved ice, and if a restaurant offers it, I will invariably order it.
Leisure Tea and Coffee is tucked away on Alexandra Road, but as one of the few dessert shops in the area, it always fills up fast.
What I ate: Japanese Light Cheesecake ($5.25)
Plating was cute. The cheesecake was light and fluffy as advertised. Pretty typical rendition. Very light on the cheese flavour, but so is most Japanese cheesecakes.
What I ate: Caramel Pudding Milk Icy ($6.25)
This was okay. It was very old school shaved ice, in that the ice was just water. Nowadays most places serve shaved milk which has a softer texture.
This dessert gets most of its flavour from the liberal use of condensed milk and sugar syrup. The caramel pudding while very delicious tasted packaged (which isn’t a bad thing).
Overall, if I was in the area I’d probably come by again, but with Snowy Village just a few shops away, I’d probably not order the shaved ice here again.
