Lavish Liquid 10th Anniversary Party – #LAVISHLIQUIDSTURNS10

Lavish Liquid is a premiere provider of event bartending services. They provide an authentic cocktail bar experience unlike any other. They celebrated their 10th anniversary yesterday in North Vancouver’s The Pipe Shop.

Lavish Liquid partnered with seven different catering companies to create seven unique cocktail and food pairing stations. I tried all of them and I’ve highlighted a few standouts below.

Cocktails & Canapes had a taco station featuring Sayulita inspired tacos using authentic corn tortillas. They had an Al Pastor and a Prawn Taco served with a side of tortilla chips with salsa. The accompanying cocktail was a Pica Piña margarita featuring Rehilete Papalote tequila, a blend of Espadin mezcals, lime juice, pineapple juice, habanero-agave syrup and a spiced tajin rim.

The stand out taco for me was the al pastor. The pineapple added a lovely freshness to the well marinated pork.

Forage featured two canapés: Chanterelle arancini and a Grand Fir and honey cured white spring salmon. This was paired with a B.Y.O.G.T. (Build your own Gin and Tonic).

The salmon was the stand out canapé for me. The ikura provided a perfect salty balance to the slightly smokey salmon.

Mordimi had my favourite bite of the night. They had two desserts – Bignè with chantilly cream and caramel cream and hazelnut meringues. These desserts were paired with three cocktails – Aperol Spritz, Americano and Sblaggliato. I tried the Sblaggliato which has Campari, Cinzano Sweet Vermout, Prosecco and an orange slice.

The hazelnut meringue was out of this world. It doesn’t look like much on the outside but on the inside the meringue is absolutely studded with caramelized hazelnuts. I was basically camped out here eating my weight in meringues.

The prettiest drink pairing of the night had to go to the Savoury Chef. The custom cocktail created for their canapés was a Toasted Coconut and Mint Infused Mount Gay Rum, lime juice, blue curacao, soda and a mint garnish. The drink was very light and tasted mostly of lime and soda.

Throughout the night there was a great DJ playing some awesome tunes and the atmosphere was lively. It was a fantastic party, and I can’t wait till Lavish Liquid turns 20!
