Presotea – Amazing Bubble Tea Deal in Burnaby

I’m all about getting a good deal, so when Presotea announced their BOGO special for their grand opening in Burnaby I was all over it. From July 3-5, Presotea is having a bubble tea deal where you can get Buy 1 Get 1 Free from five selected drinks. The five choices:

There is a good mix of milk based and fruit/tea based drinks which I appreciate. The new Presotea location is located inside the new Amazing Brentwood next to Sporting Life inside the Transit Plaza. However, it is a bit hidden so keep you eye out for their direction signs.

For the drinks you can adjust sweetness and ice levels, except for the Brown Sugar Pearl Latte. The deal is for the drinks in the large size.

HOT TIP: If you use American Express, Presotea is part of their #ShopSmall campaign and for $10 spent you will receive back $5. If you combo this up with the current BOGO deal, you can get four drinks for approximately $8! That’s even cheaper than bubble tea in the 90s. Here’s my referral link for an additional 500 bonus Airmiles!

I tried four of the five options and ranked them from best to pass to help you maximize your return on this deal!

Milk and Tea Based Bubble Tea Options

The best deal and most satisfying to drink was the Brown Sugar Pearl Latte ($6.40). I’m very picky when it comes to brown sugar drinks because they are all milk based and I have a lactose sensitivity. One of my favourite spots for this drink is Chunyang, and this one comes pretty darn close in taste. The brown sugar pearls are perfect. They are chewy, and full of brown sugar flavour. The caramelized flavour really shines with the milk. Make sure you stir this really well or you’ll just end up with a mouthful of sugar!

The Panda Pearl Milk Tea ($5.60) has a good milk tea flavour. I got mine 30% sweet and I found it plenty sweet. The name of this drink comes from the white and black pearls but the pearls themselves don’t have any special flavours. They were chewy and went well with the drink.

Tea and Fruit Based Bubble Tea Options

The Passion Fruit 2Q ($6.30) is my pick for a non milk base bubble tea option. It was light and refreshing and was reminiscent of the Bubble Gaga from Coco which I adore. This drink has the same black and white pearls as the Panda Pearl Milk Tea and it also has coconut jelly! The passion fruit flavour isn’t super prominent but overall a very refreshing summer drink.

The Cheese Cream Peach Green Tea ($5.20) was my least favourite of all the options. The foam cap was significantly smaller than what was advertised and there wasn’t really anything special about this drink. It had a nice peach flavour and I chose to have mine with green tea and the lightness of the green tea paired well with the peach.

Overall I really enjoyed the bubble teas at Presotea. Especially with this deal, the pricing can’t be beat. On a regular day their pricing is on par with most bubble tea stores in the area. I felt comfortable ordering in the store as the staff were all wearing masks, and everything looked clean and packaged properly.

If you haven’t checked it out already, get on over to the new Presotea at The Amazing Brentwood and take advantage of the great BOGO deal!
