Chilliwack Sunflower Festival – Day Trip to Chilliwack

chilliwack sunflower festival large sunflower fields

The Chilliwack Sunflower Festival is the one of the largest sunflower festivals in Western Canada. It is open from August 12th until September 7th. Although the Sunflower Festival is a little smaller this year, there are still acres of sunflowers to enjoy. In addition to the sunflowers, there are also colourful and bright fields of Dahlias and Gladiolas to enjoy. There are plenty of photo op spots including swings and vintage bikes.

This year tickets can only be purchased online in timed slots. Click here for additional pricing information.

The weather looks to be sunny for the next couple weeks, so it’ll be the perfect time to enjoy the sunflowers. There is little to no shade in the fields so wear plenty of sunscreen and water!

Sunflower Fields

There are 25 different types of sunflowers to enjoy this year. The sunflowers line large pathways so there is plenty of space to enjoy them safely.

Dahlias and Gladiolas

In addition to the gorgeous sunflower fields, there are plenty of Dahlias and Gladiolas to enjoy. I love Dahlias and the colour gradients are stunning to behold.

I had a great time at the Chilliwack Sunflower Festival. There are plenty of safety precautions in place and extra wide pathways to ensure that there is space between groups. There is plenty to see and do and I never knew there were so many different types of sunflowers! The Chilliwack Sunflower Festival is a great little day trip getaway. After enjoying the Sunflower Festival don’t forget to swing by The Sparkes Corn Barn to pick up some fresh Chilliwack corn! And on the way home stop by for some delicious Korean eats in Coquitlam – my idea of a perfect day trip.

Complimentary media tickets were provided for this festival. All thoughts are my own.
