Buttermere is introducing three epic Easter eggs. These eggs are 7-inches tall and are filled with dragées. Dragées are small candies with a hard outer shell. The Easter eggs com in three distinct shell hues and flavours:

  • The Pastel Splash Egg – made with 41% Alunga™ milk chocolate and feuilletine, crispy baked crêpe layers, the Pastel Splash Egg shell is most characteristic of Easter.
  • The Pearl Egg – made with 34% Zéphyr™ white chocolate paired with Oreo crumbs.
  • The Metallic Egg – made with Fleur de Cao™ dark chocolate and a caramelized hazelnut shell.

I had the privilege of trying The Pastel Splash Egg ($52.00). This is one hefty chocolate concoction! I thought it would simply shatter with the bashing of the hammer, however it was a lot thicker than I thought. It took a couple hard smacks to even crack the top.

Once it is broken, the egg will open to reveal the most beautiful candy concoctions! There is a variety of nuts and dried fruits which include:

  • Nesquik® and ruby chocolate
  • 70% Fleur de Cao™ dark chocolate almond
  • Caramelized white chocolate hazelnut
  • Sesame hazelnut praline dark chocolate
  • Lemon marzipan with Zéphyr™ white chocolate
  • Freeze-dried cherry
  • Chocolate almond sable with cashew

Each egg comes with a miniature hammer for a playful reveal. It is available from March 17th to April 5th for pre-order now until April 1st or walk-in purchase at Buttermere Café (636 Main Street) during regular business hours. Pick up is also available at Torafuku.
