Deluxe Harbour View Room at The Westin Bayshore
The Deluxe Harbour view room floor-to-ceiling windows and breathtaking views of the harbour and North Shore Mountains. It is such a lovely view to check into as well as see the beautiful lights at night.
This room has a king size Westin Heavenly Bed which is like sinking into a cloud. The pillows are so fluffy and soft, and trust me it was so hard to leave the bed once I was in it!
There are two lovely armchairs right next to the sliding glass windows – perfect for soaking in the amazing views.
There are plenty of plush towels (and trust me when I say they are plush!) The are a few toiletries provided, but you can always call housekeeping for additional amenities like toothbrushes, shower caps, slippers etc.
In the room there is also bottled water (for a fee), coffee maker (with Starbucks coffee!) and a mini bar (for a fee). I woke up early to make a nice hot cup of coffee while admiring the early sounds of joggers, bikers and seagulls.
Cocktails at H Tasting Lounge
H Tasting Lounge never shies from innovation for their cocktail menu, and Andrew Kong (H Tasting Lounge’s award-winning bartender) has knocked it out of the park this holiday season. From November 20 to December 25, H Tasting Lounge will feature 12 Festive cocktails inspired by holiday film favourites.
Festive cocktails include:
- ‘Rye Hard’ featuring Rittenhouse Rye, Cherry Heering, Jägermeister, Underberg,
- ‘Yukon Cornelius’ – Tanqueray 10, Stump Gin, Yellow Chartreuse, Elderflower Cordial, Wintergreen, Gold Dust
- ‘Network President’ featuring ‘champagne’ mionetto treviso brut prosecco, demerara, menta branca, bitters, black olive brine
There is a cocktail for everyone. They even have spirit free options like ‘Milk & Cookies’ featuring Maca Hojicha Oat Milk, Lactose-Free Cream Cheese, Oreos. For our visit we had the Yukon Cornelius and Network President.

To go with our festive cocktails we had a few items off their Happy Hour menu.
The Smash Slider ($6.00 each) which features a double smash patty, cheddar cheese, pickle, shredded lettuce, h burger sauce, potato bun was delightful.
The Fish Taco ($6.00) features jalapeño lime mayo, cotija cheese, pickled cabbage, pico de gallo, cilantro was equally as delicious. The fish was perfectly fried, and the pickled cabbage was the perfect textural and flavour contrast.
Of course we couldn’t not try the famous Bread and Oil ($8.00)! It was simply perfection and so unique – a must try!
Vancouver Christmas Market
The Vancouver Christmas Market is an authentic German feast for the senses. The Vancouver Christmas Market is located at Jack Poole Plaza, just a stone’s throw away from The Westin Bayshore. Brightly lit with sparkling lights and filled with festive cheer, the market is a great holiday activity. The market posts over 80 artisan huts offering a variety of handcrafted gifts. There is also a variety of German holiday eats to choose from including Glühwein (mulled wine), raclette, roasted chestnuts and more.
Breakfast at H2 Rotisserie & Bar
Early the next morning I went down to H2 Rotisserie & Bar for a lovely morning breakfast. The restaurant offers upscale comfort food with a focus on fresh and local ingredients. It was extremely busy on a Sunday morning, so I highly recommend you make reservations prior to their visit. The restaurant was very good with their COVID safety protocols, and the staff was carefully scanning everyone’s vaccine passport and cross checking ID. Please note physical ID is required.
To start we shared the Ultimate Breakfast Parfait ($15.00). This parfait features house-made strudel muesli layered with vanilla yogurt & fruit compote. There was plenty of fresh fruit on top including strawberries, blueberries and raspberries.
For our mains we went with Classic Old Faithful ($21.00) and Bayshore Bennies with Smoked Salmon ($24.00). The Classic Old Faithful features two free run eggs your way and your choice of choice of bacon, turkey sausage or smoked ham. The Bayshore Benny with Smoked Salmon features poached eggs, English muffin, chive hollandaise and hash brown potatoes.
The Classic Old Faithful was exactly that – a classic! The scrambled eggs were light and fluffy, there was plenty of crispy bacon and the potatoes were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside.
The Bayshore Bennie with Smoked Salmon was also delightful. There was layers of smoked salmon and two perfectly poached eggs. The yolk flow was absolute perfection!
Overall Thoughts
I had a fantastic staycation at The Westin Bayshore. It was so lovely strolling the Vancouver Christmas Market and then walking back to the hotel (just a 15 minute walk away!). The views were spectacular and I was lucky enough to have sun for a portion of the day to fully appreciate all the lovely trees in Stanley Park and the mountains in the distance.
