OEB Breakfast Co.’s 4th location is finally open in West Vancouver’s Ambleside Park. This 2,808 square-foot restaurant fits 80 guests inside with an additional 16 seats on the patio. This spot will be the perfect place for all your brunch needs. The best part is you don’t even need to wait for the weekend, as brunch is a daily affair at OEB. I got a sneak peek of this lovely space over the weekend and I honestly can’t wait to be back!
OEB Breakfast Co. Ambleside – Savoury Brunch Menu
OEB Breakfast Co. Ambleside has a huge and varied menu. There’s something for everyone. On my visit I had:
- Holy Crab
- Double Trouble
- The Notorious B.I.T.
The Holy Crab ($22.00) is from the ‘Benny’s’ section of the menu. It features wild blue crab, fresh dill and dijon mustard. All egg benny’s are served on a butter croissant with a brown butter hollandaise. You can choose between duck fat fried herb potatoes or arugula mix for your side. I went with arugula and it went really well with the crab and egg. I generally am not a fan of hollandaise, but I absolutely adore the hollandaise here. There is plenty of crab on this benny, so if you’re in a treat yourself mood, this is a good pick.
The Double Trouble ($19.00) is a Blue Plate Special. It features two eggs over easy, hardwood smoked bacon, sharp cheddar, heirloom tomato, chipotle aioli, arugula, Spanish Manchego, and artisan brioche. I added avocado on top as well to make it extra rich (and I highly recommend you do the same). All the ingredients are so fresh and works so well together. The thick cut artisan brioche is the perfect vehicle for all the ingredients.
The Notorious B.I.T. ($20.00) features double ground chuck burger, white truffle aioli, the works on a vegan Japanese milk bun. This is the breakfast burger of your dreams. It almost rivals my old favourite Breakfast Burger from L’Abattoir. The bun is so incredibly soft and the truffle goes so well with all the ingredients in the burger.
OEB Breakfast Co. Ambleside – Sweet Brunch Menu
To end on a sweet note we got the Belgian Waffle ($14.00). It comes with Quebec maple syrup, salted butter, and powdered sugar. But, to make it extra special we added berries ($3.00) and fresh whipped cream ($2.00). The waffle was light and crispy. It was the perfect way to end a rich and heavy brunch.
Worth a Try?
Yes! OEB Breakfast Co. is one of my favourite restaurants – you can always count on a solid brunch here. This newest location is bright, airy and beautiful, just like all the other locations. Although the restaurant is quite large, I’m fairly certain it will be quite busy. Like all OEB’s, I highly recommend you come early to avoid the wait. Generally what I do is I try to write my name down as soon as I can, spend some time to explore the area and then come back for a delicious brunch. OEB Breakfast Co. is right next to Aburi Market, so it’s a great way to do some grocery shopping before brunch!
