They are serving up brunch Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm and reservations are highly recommended. Their brunch menu includes many familiar favourites like eggs benedict, french toast, waffles and more but with a unique Afghan take. The dishes are truly elevated with bold flavours and this will definitely be on the top of your brunch list once you’ve tried it out!

Zarak By Afghan Kitchen – Brunch Drinks Menu

Zarak has an extensive alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks menu at brunch. As with their evening service, the cocktails are fully of whimsy and different flavours you wouldn’t normally see elsewhere. From the alcoholic menu we had:

  • Mimosa Flight
  • Fruit Loops

The Mimosa Flight ($15.00) features 3 flavours orange, pomegranate and lychee with Villa Conchi Cava Brut Seleccion. The test tube presentation was super cute and the mimosas were light and refreshing.

The Fruit Loops ($14.00) features basil Hayden bourbon, fruit loop cereal milk, Kahlua, vanilla extract and grated nutmeg.

From the aptly named ‘Morning Jolt’ section we had:

  • Iced Strawberry Latte
  • Iced Caramel Latte
  • Iced Hojicha Latte

The Iced Strawberry Latte ($7.00) which features cold brew and housemade strawberry oat milk. The Iced Caramel Latte ($7.00) topped with whipped cream and popcorn. And Iced Hojicha Latte ($7.00) made with Paragon Hojicha. The Iced Caramel Latte had such a cute topping of Chicago Mix. I really enjoyed the strong coffee taste in the lattes.

Zarak By Afghan Kitchen – Brunch Menu

Zarak has a wide variety of brunch dishes to choose from. From their take on Eggs Benedict to more traditional fare, there is something for everybody. For our brunch we went with:

  • Chicken + Waffle
  • Full Afghan
  • Pakawra Benedict
  • Lamb Benedict
  • French Toast

The Chicken + Waffle ($22.00) features seven spice buttermilk fried chicken and a mango chili aioli. This was the table favourite! There are two generous pieces of fried chicken that was so flavourful and juicy. It went so well with the crispy waffle. A solid dish and an absolute must order.

All benedicts come with two poached eggs and a chutney hollandaise. We tried the Lamb Benedict ($21.00) which features lamb, pickled cabbage and salsa verde. And the Pakawra Benedict ($18.00) which features potato, eggplant and field greens.

The Full Afghan ($26.00) features shami kebab, eggs, lubya, mushroom and bolani. It’s a great way to experience a traditional Afghani breakfast.

To end of a sweet note we had French Toast ($18.00) which features chai poached pear, orange blossom mascarpone, caramel, safflower and pistachio.

Worth a Try?

Yes! I am a huge fan of Zarak for their Happy Hour and dinner and I am happy to say that their brunch is also fantastic. My stand outs are definitely the Full Afghan and the Chicken + Waffles. However, all of the dishes I had were delicious. This is such a great spot for unique a unique brunch, and this spot is definitely a weekend hot spot. It was busy from open and there was a constant stream of customers. The service is always friendly and the servers are happy to recommend different dishes.
