Vancouver Croissant Crawl 2022

The inaugural Vancouver Croissant Crawl features 10 vendors (across 14 locations) showcasing their limited edition croissant. The Vancouver Croissant Crawl is happening Oct 1-7. In addition to trying out these limited special croissants there is also a photo contest! There are so many yummy prizes to be won including gift cards, picnic experience and food tour tickets.

The participating vendors for this challenge are:

  • Bel Café
  • Cadeaux Bakery
  • Davie Village Bakery
  • Little Cafe on Robson
  • Lumine Coffee
  • Nelson the Seagull
  • Seasons Bakery
  • Terra Breads
  • Trafiq Cafe and Bakery
  • Viva Cafe and Bakery

I went for a little croissant crawl myself and managed to go to six spots. I love that a lot of the bakeries and cafes are clustered together so you can always try a few in each area. Check out the six Vancouver Croissant Crawl spots I checked out below.

1. Cadeaux Bakery – Mash n’ Stuffin Croissant

Vancouver Croissant Crawl Cadeaux Bakery - Mash n' Stuffin Croissant

Cadeaux Bakery is one of the few spots to offer a savoury croissant and this one is a hefty one! It features their classic butter croissant stuffed with garlic mash, stuffing frangipane & rosemary béchamel, and topped with more stuffing frangipane! This was such a flavour bomb. It really felt like a holiday dinner in each bite. You really need to check out this flavour! There are only limited quantities available in-store, so they highly encourage online pre-orders.

2. Davie Village Bakery – Double Baked Almond Croissant and Double Baked Pistachio Croissant

Vancouver Croissant Crawl Davie Village Bakery - Double Baked Almond Croissant and Double Baked Pistachio Croissant

Davie Village Bakery is a brand new bakery that just recently opened in the Davie Village neighbourhood. It is such a cozy and friendly spot, and it was absolutely packed when I went by on a Saturday. Their two feature croissants were incredibly popular and I can see why. They are classic croissants done right and baked fresh, it also helps that they’re some of the biggest croissants I’ve ever seen!

3. Lumine Coffee – Apple Crumble Spice Double Baked Croissant

Vancouver Croissant Crawl Lumine Coffee - Apple Crumble Spice Double Baked Croissant

Lumine Coffee is a beautiful coffee shop tucked away on West 4th. The interior is so warm and calming and they have an excellent coffee selection (including coffee flights!) However, I was here on a mission and the croissant was successfully procured. It was another enormous croissant and one of the prettiest I’ve seen in Vancouver. It reminds me of a warm hug, and I love the cinnamon-y apple flavours. I also really like the vanilla buttercream and caramelized honeycomb candy on top.

4. Nelson the Seagull – Melktart Croissant

Vancouver Croissant Crawl Nelson the Seagull - Melktart Croissant

This croissant was the most unique in shape and flavour. Their croissant resembled a cruffin (Croissant and a muffin hybrid). Melktert is a South African creamy milky tart. It’s similar to a custard pie but more delicate and with a lighter texture. The custardy center went well with the caramelized exterior and buttery layers.

5. Seasons Bakery – Double Baked Kaya Pomelo Croissant

Vancouver Croissant Crawl Seasons Bakery - Double Baked Kaya Pomelo Croissant

Seasons Bakery has an Asian twist for their feature croissant with the flavours of Kaya and Pomelo. Their croissant features kaya coconut cream, pomelo chunks and is topped with toasted coconut flakes and candied pomelo zest. I find the flavours to be good, but this filling was the least incorporated of all the croissants that I tried.

6. Terra Breads – Pumpkin Pie Double Baked Croissant

Vancouver Croissant Crawl Terra Breads - Pumpkin Pie Double Baked Croissant

With Fall in full swing, Terra Breads really leaned into the season with their limited edition croissant. It is honestly the perfect Fall treat, with the warm spices and pumpkin filling. I love the crumbly streusel topping on the croissant because it adds a nice textural contrast to the soft filling and buttery croissant layers.

Is the Vancouver Croissant Crawl Worth a Try?

YES! This is such a fun activity to do with friends on a nice sunny day. It’s also such a lovely way to showcase so many local cafes and bakeries in a creative and exciting way. All the participants have all come up with so many amazing flavours, and I wish I cold have gone to all of them. The week is still new though, so I might just try and get a few more stops in because I just adore croissants.

This limited edition croissants are extremely popular. Most bakeries were sold out within 2 hours of opening. I highly recommend that you preorder your croissants (if the option is available) to avoid disappointment! My personal must tries are: Terra Breads, Davie Village Bakery, Cadeaux Bakery and Lumine Coffee, however they were all excellent. There is no shortage of flavours on the Vancouver Croissant Crawl, so find your favourites and make it a fun day of exploring!
