As a huge lobster roll lover, I could not pass up the opportunity to try Broad Street Oyster Company! In my food research for LA, their lobster roll kept popping up on my feed. They have several locations with a sit down restaurant in Miami. For those going to LA, you can find them at Grand Central Market (daily) and at Smorgasburg Los Angeles (on Sundays). I went to their location at Grand Central Market. They have a stall there with bar seating. You go to the counter to order and pay, then you will receive a pager that will ring when your food is ready.
We got their classic lobster roll (hot with butter). However, if you’re a fan of cold lobster rolls they have a version with mayo. The classic Lobster Roll ($25.00) features a soft and buttered bun stuffed with lobster. There are a plethora of modifications available such as extra lobster, adding uni, caviar and more. Since we were on vacation we decided to treat ourselves and add uni ($14.00). While it was a lovely touch, I don’t think it was necessary, and for the price you only get two pieces.
The lobster was bouncy and flavourful and the butter was the perfect complement to the lobster. I love that it comes in huge chunks so you can really enjoy the texture of the lobster. The roll had a nice crisp outside and a soft and fluffy interior. I would definitely get this again!
