Girl and the Goat LA – Must Try Innovative Fusion Brunch in Los Angeles

Girl and the Goat LA - Must Try Innovative Fusion Brunch in Los Angeles

As a huge fan of Top Chef and Stephanie Izard, her restaurant Girl and the Goat has been on my food bucket list for a long time. Unfortunately I haven’t had a chance to head to Chicago yet, but when I saw she has a new location in Los Angeles, I immediately made a reservation. I’m glad I did, because the restaurant was packed on a Sunday morning (as expected). Due to time constraints, I wasn’t able to make it for dinner, but I can confidently say the brunch was fantastic. Check out my full review of Girl and the Goat LA below!

Between the two of us we shared:

  • Everything Crumpets & Cured Smoked Salmon ($22.00 USD)
  • This Little Piggy ($19.00 USD)

The Everything Crumpets & Cured Smoked Salmon features smoked salmon dip, chili crunch, fried egg salad and pickled veggies. The crumpets were light and airy with a crisp exterior and a fluffy interior. It was the perfect vehicle for the smoked salmon dip. The chili crunch adds a nice touch of heat and the pickles really break up the richness of the dish. It’s a very unique dish, and I really enjoyed it!

The best way to enjoy is to break up the crumpet and load up on everything. That you get some salty, sweet and sour flavour all going on at once. However, by the end of it we were just eating the dip with spoons, it was was so good!

The This Little Piggy features a cheddar scallion biscuit, sichuan sausage, hoisin mayo, chili maple and strawberry. The biscuit was buttery with the perfect texture. The sausage was very flavourful and the strawberries adds a really nice acidic punch to break up the heaviness of this dish. It is an incredibly rich dish, that’s best shared.

Overall, the brunch at Girl and the Goat was fantastic. My only regret is that I had a full day of eating planned and I was 5 days into my trip and I couldn’t stuff any more food down!
