As much as I love a fully loaded Chipotle burrito, there’s nothing better than a burrito that’s made with love from Tacomio. They are a family-run Mexican restaurant in Vancouver that is dedicated to serving up fresh and authentic Mexican eats. Their dishes are all made with local, seasonal and sustainable ingredients. You can truly taste the love and care that they put into everything that they make. While they have many menu staples, they are always adding new and delicious favorites to their menu. Tacomio – Chicken Milanesa Burrito and Wild Pacific Cod Burrito
On my visit today I tried their brand new Chicken Milanesa Burrito as well as picking up a classic favourite of mine – Wild Pacific Cod Burrito.
The Chicken Milanesa Burrito ($17.25) features panko-crusted chicken breast, roasted bell peppers & caramelized onions, Mexican style rice, fresh avocado, baby lettuce, red cabbage and chipotle mayo. All of this yummy goodness is tightly wrapped in a grilled flour tortilla. The burritos at Tacomio are hefty. Honestly, I always need to share, because half is more than enough for me. A full burrito would definitely put me into a certifiable food coma! The chicken is moist and juicy and all the components work so well together. Spicy, fresh and umami all in one bite!
The Wild Pacific Cod Burrito ($16.50) features beer batter Pacific wild cod, Mexican rice, shaved cabbage, pico de gallo and chipotle mayo. The fish still has a nice crisp texture and it goes really well with the freshly made pico de gallo. Again, just like the Chicken burrito it is a hefty one!
