The Teahouse in Stanley Park is a popular restaurant located in the heart of Stanley Park in Vancouver, Canada. The restaurant is housed in a historic building that dates back to the 1930s and features stunning views of English Bay and the North Shore Mountains. The scenic location and ambiance make the Teahouse a popular spot for weddings and romantic date nights. Their menu features a wide range of dishes and they will soon be introducing more vegan and vegetarian options. Check out my full review of the Teahouse in Stanley Park below!
Teahouse in Stanley Park – Dinner Menu Starters
I came by on a lovely sunny Vancouver day (what a rarity!) and enjoyed the lovely view and sunset as I had my dinner. All meals at the Teahouse start with a lovely warm baguette and butter. In addition to the bread we went with:
- Beef Carpaccio
- Sautéed Prawns
- Charcuterie Board
The Beef Carpaccio ($23.00) features peppercorn crusted beef, truffled dijon aioli, pickled shimeji mushrooms, shaved parmesan and arugula. The beef was perfectly sliced and I loved the pickled shimeji mushrooms. They add a great hit of sour flavour to balance out the rich aioli and parmesan. A delicious starter!
The Sautéed Prawns ($19.00) are a bit of a show when they arrive to the table. Your server will pour hot butter on the prawns and the sizzle is so appetizing. The prawns themselves were juicy and huge.
I can never resist a good Charcuterie Board ($36.00). This board features elk juniper salami, lemon confit saucisson sec, bison bresaola, Manchego, aged cheddar, truffle sheep’s milk cheese, pickled vegetables, organic baguette, cornichons and grainy mustard. There was also a huge serving of olives (so if you’re a fan you’ll love this board). This was a well composed charcuterie board, and great to nibble on.
Teahouse in Stanley Park – Dinner Menu Entrees
For our entrees we went with:
- Steak Diane
- Miso Glazed Sablefish
- Seafood Spaghetti
The Steak Diane ($51.00) features 7oz grass-fed tenderloin, pavé de pommes de terre and seasonal vegetables. The steak was medium rare as requested, but a tad on the tougher side for a tenderloin. However, overall the dish was delicious and the pavé de pommes de terre was a standout.
The Miso Glazed Sablefish ($48.00) features Oceanwise sablefish with roasted fingerling potatoes and garden vegetables. The fish was moist and flakey, but I didn’t really get any of the miso flavour.
The Seafood Spaghetti ($42.00) features San Marzano Arrabiata sauce, mussels, clams, shrimp, bay scallops and basil oil. This was our favourite entree of the night. The sauce was incredibly flavourful and the dish was packed with fresh and large seafood. The shrimp in particular were very plump and juicy.
Teahouse in Stanley Park – Dessert
For our dessert we went with their Lemon Pie ($12.00) and their seasonal Pavola ($12.00). The Lemon Pie was very tart and a great way to end the meal. However, my favourite was definitely the Pavola. It wasn’t too sweet and it was topped with fresh whip cream and sour cherries. This was a delicious and lovely Spring dessert.
Worth a Try?
This is a great spot if you’re looking to impress out of town visitors or to have a romantic date. I wouldn’t say that this is the best spot for an every day meal, but it’s really lovely for a special occasion. The service was top notch and the view honestly cannot be beat! The meal overall was well executed and I would recommend trying the Sautéed Prawns, Seafood Spaghetti and Pavola. If ocean views aren’t your thing, try checking out Seasons in the Park for a stunning view of the Vancouver skyline.
Teahouse in Stanley Park will be opening their patio on May 4. They will also be resuming lunch service starting May 22 with classics like fish and chips, smoked salmon flatbread and more.
