Harajuku is a bustling area around Tokyo’s Harajuku Station. Most notably known for Takeshita Dori (Takeshita Street), which is full of trendy shops and boutiques. This street is usually packed to the gills but I came by quite early in the day so it was much less crowded. While we were waiting for the shops to open, we came across Noa Coffee Harajuku.
This small but aesthetic coffee shop is located at the beginning of Takeshita Dori, just across from Daiso. They have quite a few tables at the front of the store with large windows.
It’s a great spot for enjoying a cup of coffee and people watching. Unlike most independent coffee shops in Tokyo, Noa Coffee is open quite early at 8 am. You definitely need to check out Noa Coffee Harajuku on your next visit to Takeshita Dori.
Noa Coffee Harajuku – Morning Sets for Under $8
Every day from 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM, Noa Coffee Harajuku has two delicious morning sets to choose from:
- Set A: Buttered Toast (with jam or maple sauce) OR waffle + boiled egg + drink (750 yen)
- Set B: Buttered toast (with jam or maple sauce) OR waffle + salad + drink (770 yen)
For the set drink, there are plenty of options including blend coffee, American coffee, ice coffee, melon soda, tea (with lemon or milk) or milk.
We went with one of each set to try. The ice coffee was really good! I find that coffee in Japan is on the weaker side, but the coffee at Noa Coffee was strong.
The waffles are made fresh to order, and they’re crisp on the outside but fluffy on the inside.
The toast was Japanese thick toast and it was perfectly toasted. I ate it with the boiled egg (I adore Japanese egg yolks) and with the egg salad I ordered extra on the side.
The breakfast morning sets are simple but well done and delicious. It’s a great start to the day to keep you energized for a day of shopping at Takeshita Dori.

Yes! The food was simple but well done. The service was friendly and efficient. I like that everything is made fresh and the portion size is more than enough for breakfast. If you’re looking for a simple, no frills breakfast with great coffee in Harajuku, Noa Coffee Harajuku is a great choice!
