YOLU Calm Night Repair Hair Oil Review

On my recent trip to Japan, I was really keen on trying out some more hair products because my hair hasn’t been in the greatest state. YOLU is a very popular brand in Japan right now, and is well known for their hair care products. Yolu (or “yoru”) means “night” and this is directly relatable to the concept behind the YOLU Calm Night Repair Shampoo & Treatment. Due to space constraints (the treatment comes in huge bottles), I went for the YOLU Relax Night Repair Hair Oil. This hair oil smells amazing. It’s really thin so you don’t have to worry about looking greasy. Check out my full review below!

YOLU Calm Night Repair Hair Oil Ingredients

YOLU Calm Night Repair Hair Oil Review

The hair oil is a combination of three types of collagen proteins:

  • hydrolyzed collagen
  • hydrolyzed collagen PG propyl methylsilanediol
  • isostearoyl hydrolyzed collagen

In addition to the collagen, there is also plenty of natural ingredients including hydrolyzed keratin from wool, macadamia nut fatty acid, sunflower seed oil, Persian silk tree bark extract, and soybean oil. These ingredients all work together to give you silky smooth hair in the morning as it is hard at work repairing your hair as you sleep. This amazing hair oil does not contain any parabens, mineral oils, and synthetic coloring.

Formula and Results

YOLU Calm Night Repair Hair Oil Review

The YOLU Calm Night Repair Hair Oil is very light weight and liquidy when you pump it out. Almost like a toner texture. The scent is incredible and the jasmine really comes through and leaves your hair smelling amazing. After I do my hair wash routine, I rub a pea sized amount into my hair from the mid point towards the tips. I really massage it in to make sure my hair is soaking in all the goodness. My hair is quite dry naturally. However, after using it for a month, I noticed that my hair is a lot shinier and smoother.

This product works best with the suite of YOLU Calm Night Repair products, so I will definitely be saving up luggage space on my next trip to purchase the entire treatment line.

This product can be found at all drug stores and beauty shops in Japan for 1,400 yen (approx. $14 CAD). You can also purchase it online here. (Use code ‘PURPLE5’ for extra 5% off!)
