Cactus Club The Pearl – New Cocktail You Need To Try

Cactus Club Cafe The Pearl new cocktail at cactus club popping passionfruit pearls

Cactus Club Cafe is my go to spot for good drinks and delicious food. I love that they are always updating their menu with new drinks and food items. One new item that caught my eye was ‘The Pearl’. This cocktail features Bacardi white rum, sake, kiwi, cucumber, mint and popping passion fruit pearls. The cocktail is priced at $12.50 and it is refreshing and easy to drink – the perfect summer cocktail! If you’re not a fan of alcohol they also have the the ‘Little Pearl’ which is the non-alcoholic version and costs $6.75. Check out my full review of the brand new Cactus Club The Pearl cocktail below!

I found this new cocktail to be very light with delicious bursts of tang from the passionfruit bubbles. Although this drink was unique and refreshing, I still prefer the Kyoto Fizz. Both cocktails are similar, but the Kyoto Fizz features Smirnoff vodka, sake, yuzu, white peach, chamomile, lime, soda and thyme. Both are excellent summer drinks and you should definitely try them out before the season ends.

Cactus Club Cafe Salmon Aburi roll

In addition to these delicious new cocktails, Cactus Club has also introduced a variety of new summer food items to their menu. The Salmon Aburi Roll which features flame seared Ocean Wise steelhead with mango, avocado, crispy tempura and serrano peppers. This is a returning favourite sans asparagus. This dish made it’s first appearance last May.

Another returning favourite is the Ceviche. This is a Peruvian inspired ceviche in a leche de tigre marinade. This is one of my favourite appetizers from Cactus Club Cafe because of it’s tangy lime foreword marinade.

Two completely new items are the Hot Chicken & Pickles and Crab Cake. The Hot Chicken & Pickles feature crispy fried chicken coated in Nashville spice and honey with a creamy parmesan dip. The chicken was moist and tender and not that spicy. The parmesan dip was perfection. The Crab Cake features a flavourful mix of panko crusted Canadian rock crab, prawn, cucumber, arugula and Green Goddess dressing. The crab cake is definitely on the flatter side, but it has a nice mix of crab with not too much filler. The dressing, cucumber and arugula really lighten up the dish.

Cactus Club Cafe is always bustling no matter what time of day it is, so I highly recommend you make reservations before heading out.
