I recently visited Seoul after a four year hiatus (thanks to a certain pandemic). In the past I’ve always stayed at AirBnB’s, but with the rising prices of each stay and all the rules associated with an AirBNB stay, I decided to go with a hotel this time. This hotel is easily accessible from Incheon International Airport and is surrounded by great shopping, entertainment and transit. The pricing is also incredibly reasonable! Sotetsu Hotels The Splaisir Seoul Myeongdong is easily accessible through public transportation and by Limousine Bus from Incheon Airport. The hotel does not have parking spaces. As I landed at Gimpo Airport, I took a taxi to the hotel and it was approximately $40 and a little over 1 hour away. Access information if you’re taking the Airport Limousine or the subway from Incheon Airport:
- A 6 minute walk from Exit 7 in City Hall Station on the Subway Line 1, 2
- A 8 minute walk from Exit 1 in City Hall Station on the Subway Line 1, 2
- A 7 minute walk from Exit 7 in Hoehyeon Station on the Subway Line 4

Sotetsu Hotels The Splaisir Seoul Myeongdong – Deluxe Double Room
The room type we went with was Deluxe Double and it was very spacious and comfortable! It was by far the largest room we stayed in for our Asia trip and the room contains a queen size Simmons bed, office desk, TV, a hinoki bathtub and a wooden bench. The allure of this hotel for me was definitely the Hinoki bathtubs. The entire room was made with cedar and the aroma was so relaxing after a long and busy day exploring Seoul. The room size is 25m². The bed was enormous and the mattress was the perfect firmness for a great night sleep. The room was clean, comfortable, functional and spacious! We had no problem laying out all four of our (very large) carry on suitcases to pack on our last night with plenty of space to walk around.
The bathroom features a beautiful hinoki bathtub which was perfect for soaking in after a long day. I love the full marble look and all the additional skincare amenities were definitely a bonus.

Sotetsu Hotels The Splaisir Seoul Myeongdong has two restaurants on site – BST and La Class. BST is open for breakfast and serves a daily menu buffet style with Western dishes. La Class is open all day and is an Italian restaurant with classic choices like pasta and pizza.
On the 17th floor there are meeting rooms available for booking as well as a business center that is open 24 hours a day.
On the 1st floor basement there is a 24 hour Fitness Center that is available for guests. In addition, there is also a coin operated laundry with 3 large washing machines and 3 large dryers. This was super useful for us as it was week 3 of our Asia trip and we really needed to do some laundry.
Overall Thoughts
Sotetsu Hotels The Splaisir Seoul Myeongdong is a great option for your next Seoul trip for its convenience, cleanliness, location and price. There are so many great bakeries, restaurants as well as Shinsegae department store near by that the convenience really can’t be beat. In addition, the hotel provides free bottled water (huge perk in my opinion!) and they’re very accommodating if you request for additional ammenities during your stay. They also securely store your luggage before and after check in! I will definitely be staying here again. Book your stay here today!
