Stackhouse SteakSandwich Vancouver – Menu

The menu is small but the flavours are bold and delicious. On my visit I got:

  • Stackhouse Steak Sandwich ($12.00) – sirloin medium rare steak, crispy onion, chimichurri sauce
  • Dry Aged Beef Brisket Sandwich ($38.00) – provolone, au jus, horseradish
  • Caesar Salad ($8.00) – anchovy, crouton, housemade dressing
  • French Onion Soup ($8.00) – caramelized onion, Gruyère cheese, crouton, beef broth

The Stackhouse Steak Sandwich is the namesake for a reason. The sirloin was beautifully pink, tender, and rich, clearly cooked with care. The crispy onions added a crunchy contrast, while the chimichurri delivered a punch of garlicky brightness that tied everything together. It’s the kind of sandwich that makes you slow down, even if you’re grabbing it on your lunch break. At $12 this is an absolute steal!

The Dry Aged Beef Brisket Sandwich is a serious sandwich. The dry-aged brisket was melt-in-your-mouth tender, deeply savoury, and perfectly complemented by sharp provolone and a nice bite from the horseradish. Dipping it into the rich au jus made it even more indulgent. Because the brisket is dry aged, this sandwich isn’t always available, but when it is you need to get it. On my visit, it was an extra luxurious experience with the addition of foie gras and black truffle (seasonal availability and additional cost).

The Caesar Salad here doesn’t shy away from the anchovy (which I love!). The housemade dressing has a creamy, salty depth and coats the lettuce perfectly. The salad is finished with crisp croutons and just the right amount of Parmesan. A classic, done right.

No matter the season, the French Onion Soup hits. The caramelized onions were rich and sweet, the broth deeply savoury, and the blanket of Gruyère cheese perfectly melted over a crusty crouton made for that satisfying cheese pull we live for.
