Met up with P for dinner after a crazy hectic week. Due to some miscommunication on my part we ended up at Ki-Isu Sushi in Yaletown.

I’ve been here once before and it wasn’t bad, plus the place was quite busy for a Thursday evening!

The only downside is that they have no descriptions for their specialty rolls so we had  no idea what was in them.

What I ate: Chirashi Donburi ($14.95)

The portion was a lot smaller than we expected, but the sashimi was very fresh.

When we asked the waitress which sashimi was included, she wasn’t too sure, but she helpfully offered to ask the chef what was included. My friend inquired if scallop was one of the offerings and from what we gathered it isn’t usually, but they added it to my friend’s don for no additional charge.

What I ate: Oyako Donburi ($8.95)

Typical Oyako don. Takes about 20 minutes for preparation, and it came out hot and steaming. I love the addition of mushrooms.

Would I come back? If I was in the area I probably would. It’s a decent place for Japanese food in the Yaletown area.
