After multiple failed attempts at eating here (closed every time!), I was finally able to come on a day they were open! I came here after work with A for a much needed catch up session!
Aburi oshi sushi is one of my favourite things to eat, so when I saw that they offered it here I knew I had to check this place out. This place has been around for a pretty long time and I always pass it on my way to Sushi Garden, but I never thought to come here until I saw some pretty delicious photos of Instagram.
What we ate: Salmon Oshi and Tuna Oshi ($7.95 for 6 pieces)
This was so good! I actually think this is better than the one I had at Victoria Sushi. For the price point it doesn’t get any better than this. There wasn’t an overwhelming amount of rice and a restrained use of sauce which I appreciated. My only regret is not ordering more!
What we ate: Ocean Red Roll – Marinated spicy tuna, green onion and white radish with sockeye salmon and house spice ($10.95)
Do not get this roll. This looks nothing like the picture on the menu. If I had known that “house spice” meant drenching the roll in Sriracha I would have never ordered this. For the price I would very much rather order another Oshi sushi. I never learn with these special rolls…
What we ate: Uni Nigiri ($2.75 per piece)
This was alright. It wasn’t amazing, and I much preferred the ones I had at Applause Japanese Restaurant.
Would I come back? YES. I’m actually thinking if I have time this weekend to go back for that Oshi sushi!
