In my many years of working The Fair I’ve tried pretty much ever restaurant in the vicinity, but somehow I managed to miss this place! Although it has been a years since I’ve left, I always go back at least once a year for fun.

This year, M and I decided to go here before heading over for some end of summer fun.

We came here on a very hot day, and there is no air conditioning so it was pretty stuffy inside. But M, being the best non foodie friend put up with the heat just so I could take nice pictures by the window (the only fan was at the back of the restaurant).

Thai Ice Tea with Milk ($3.50)

It was so hot today that this definitely hit the spot! It wasn’t too sweet and I love the cute cups.

Tom Yum Goong (Prawn) – Spicy and sour light creamy soup with mushroom, cilantro, lemongrass, onion, kaffir lime leaf and galangal ($10.90)

Tom Yum soup is my favourite and I have to get it whenever I see it on a menu. This version was pretty good! It was definitely more on the sour side, but it was chock full of ingredients and very tasty!

Red Curry with rice – Thai herbs, coconut milk, eggplant, bamboo shoot, thai basil, pepper, chicken ($11.90) Steamed Rice – Small ($2.00) Chicken Satay – marinated chicken in coconut milk, turmeric, Thai spices ($7.90)

The curry was pretty standard, we asked for medium spicy but I didn’t find it spicy at all. Also very good portion size for the price!

The chicken satay was the only bad dish for me. It was extremely salty and dry. I had hopped that the sauce would save it, but it just made it even saltier. I would steer clear of this dish.

Mango Sticky Rice ($8.00)

At this point I was so full I was about to burst, but M being a better Instagram foodie than me, insisted that we get this so I could take the gram. It was my first time to have Mango Sticky Rice and I loved it! The mango was so sweet and worked so well with the slightly salty sticky rice. If I had to get one dish here it would be this one.

Would I come back? I would definitely come back for the Mango Sticky Rice dessert! Everything else was pretty standard but this dessert was stellar!
