Beta5 Chocolates (Special Collaboration with @ConstellationInspiration)

I was so excited when I heard about the special collaboration Beta5 Chocolates was having with Amy to create Asian dessert inspired cream puffs, and I wasn’t disappointed!

I managed to preorder all three flavours so I didn’t have to queue or be turned away because they ran out. This collaboration is turning out to be super hot. It’s almost impossible to get your hands on these cream puffs!

The three flavours available are: Salted Egg Yolk Custard Mochi (流沙包)⁣, Mango Coconut Sago (芒果西米露)⁣ and Ube Milk Tea Toast (奶茶+煉奶西多)⁣.

The Mango Coconut Sago tasted exactly like it’s namesake. There was a strong mango flavour and tapioca bits in the filling. The flamingo macaron on top was cute but definitely tasted stale.

The Salted Egg Yolk Custard Mochi was hands down my favourite of the three. The balance of the salted egg yolk with the sweeter vanilla cream was perfect. Similar to the mango puff, the macaron was stale and not very tasty.

The Ube Milk Tea Toast was the weakest of the three in my opinion. It was good, but I felt the flavours were very light compared to the other two flavours and I don’t think they really worked well together.

Overall, I was really impressed by these cream puffs. I wish they would be added to the permanent menu!
