After having eaten at Morimoto in Las Vegas for a week straight, of course I had to try their New York location – for research.
This bowl was absolutely stunning. The uni was creamy and luscious with the clean bright taste of the sea. Each pop of ikura had a fresh brininess that complemented the uni and the warm sushi rice.
This bowl was served with miso soup, mixed greens with carrot-ginger dressing, cucumber, tomato and chives, and sides of hijiki and kimchi pickles – and while they were perfectly serviceable, they completely paled in comparison to the main course.
My lunch was a definite splurge, but Morimoto offers some more reasonable priced lunch sets that are under $30 USD. It’s a great way to check out their delicious food without breaking the bank.
The service was on point and while it was definitely odd to be dining in a restaurant with no windows – the entire space felt like the interior or a post modern artwork – I would definitely do it again to eat this delicious sushi bowl!
