Grounds For Coffee is a Vancouver institution, and they are celebrating their 27th birthday on May 10! They are committed to providing a cozy neighborhood space for everyone to enjoy their delicious cinnamon buns and coffee. In celebration of their 27th anniversary and Mother’s Day they are introducing their limited edition Strawberry Cinnamon Buns. These buns will be available for a very short while only (May 8 – 11), so mark your calendars!
For me, a perfect cinnamon bun starts with its size. The buns here are no joke! They are twice the size of my palm and absolutely oozing with delicious cinnamon filling. It’s sticky, sweet and messy – all in the best possible way. These buns are delicious on their own but are elevated to a new level with the homemade cream cheese frosting and strawberry topping.
The cream cheese frosting here is not too sweet and the tang from the cheese really comes through. It is the perfect accompaniment to these sticky sweet buns. When I order my buns, I ask for the frosting on the side, because as much as I love the cream cheese frosting, I small dab is enough for me.
The strawberry compote really ties everything together and adds a lovely pop of color to the buns. It’s the perfect treat for mum this Mother’s Day! Grounds for Coffee has some of the best cinnamon buns in town the closest competition they have is the Biscuit Cinnamon Bun from Chewie’s!
