Summer seems to have come early this year in Vancouver! We have had a seriously hot past couple of days and to cool down I have been drinking lots of iced coffee. Nespresso’s new iced pods has been making its rounds in the United States. And now they are finally available in Canada. There are two types available – Ice Leggero and Ice Forte. This is available for both the Original Line of machines and Vertuo Line. Mine is for the Vertuo as I have the Vertuo Next. These two coffee pods are made to taste great over ice. I went to the Nespresso boutique to purchase one sleeve of each to try. However, I definitely need to make a trip back to buy some more! Nespresso Ice Leggero
One of my personal favourites is the Biano Leggero, so I couldn’t wait to try this iced version. It definitely did not disappoint! The Nespresso Ice Leggero pod consists of a mild blend of Ethiopian and Peruvian Arabicas. It has a light fruitiness that pairs well with oat or regular frothed milk. This was a light and refreshing coffee to have in the hot afternoon sun. I highly recommend this Nespresso Ice Leggero pod if you’re a fan of toasty coffee notes. However, do note this is only 80 ml so you may need a few throughout the day!
Nespresso Ice Forte
The Nespresso Ice Forte is a much bolder and stronger coffee. It consists of a blend of Colombian and Indonesian Arabicas which gives it a bold taste and intensity. I prefer drinking this one black to truly appreciate the characteristic cereal, woody, and peppery notes, but a splash of milk definitely mellows it out.
Overall, I think both Nespresso pods are worth the purchase! It comes in both the Original Line size and the Vertuo size. They both taste great over milk and I’m so glad they have been brought back to Canada for the summer. Check out my other Nespresso reviews here!
