Terrace Restaurant -Romantic 2 Course Prix Fixe Lunch Menu

The Terrace Restaurant offers a 2 Course Prix Fixe Lunch Menu for $60. This is an excellent value as it includes wine pairings.

To start we had a glass of the Mission Hill Reserve Sauvignon Blanc 2020. It was a light and refreshing start to the meal. We were also given some bread to start. In addition, after seeing everyone order the pomme frites, we did so as well. However, this dish wasn’t too special, and is your average bowl of fries.

Following the bread service, we started with the main menu. We chose to sample both appetizers on offer that day.

The Zelaney Carrots with Falafel features goat yogurt ranch, carrot ver jus, sweet onions and Carmelis feta. The wine pairing for this was the Mission Hill Reserve Pinot Blanc 2019. This star of the dish was definitely the carrots, however, the goat yogurt ranch was a great co-star.

The Wise Earth Beets & Walnut Sourdough features dill aioli, smoked plum glazed pork and cucumber. The wine pairing for this was the Mission Hill 2019 Prospectus. The glazed pork was absolutely glorious. It was like eating small pieces of extra crispy candied bacon. It went brilliantly with the earthy Pinot Noir. However, I will note that I did not see any walnut sourdough on this dish even though it was in the name of the dish.

For our mains, we both went with the Seared Wild Caught Scallops. This dish features roasted squash risotto, buttered leeks and caramelized scallop brodo. The wine pairing for this was the Mission Hill 2019 Perpetua. This dish was magnificent. I have had a lot of scallops in my day but this one just absolutely blew my mind. The risotto was so flavourful and the scallops had the perfect sear on them.

Worth a Try?

Absolutely. If you are in the Okanagan, the Terrace Restaurant at Mission Hill Family Estate Winery cannot be missed. The lunch was an amazing experience and the food and wine pairings were spot on. After lunch I highly recommend taking a stroll around or even booking a wine tasting to further your experience!
